  • Do Wyndham timeshares lose benefits when on resale market?

We went to Wyndham presentation in Branson, MO yesterday.
They offered their standard 308,000 annual points for $21,500. Plus 308,000 one time bonus points. Not a good deal of course.

But presenter said that Wyndham points lose most perks when resold. He said that you can't do much with resold points. And he showed us some clause in their Wyndham book allegedly supporting this statement. He also said that such points have the lowest priority when you try to book anything using them.

Is this true that many benefits are lost in resale?
Is it even legal in US to sell something that will be lost in resale?

Yes, the resell point does not count toward VIP. And by default, it will not give you Plus Partnership. And VIP does have few perks.

But as reservations go, it is the same unless you want to include some special 11 month early reservation (1 or 2 times based on VIP level), or President reservation, that is tied to President club, and I have yet to see the resale of that package, so have no idea if it hold on resale.

And they either found a way to make it legal, or none is trying to argue with them in the court.

I own resale and have always been able to get the reservations I wanted. It's true that VIP status does not transfer with resale but I don't think the VIP benefits are worth the tens of thousands of dollars more from buying retail.

I don't understand why they want to tell a prospective buyer that something they are spending thousands of dollars on is going to be worth much, much less when they try to sell it.

I imagine they were presenting it the OTHER way - that you do not get all the perks if you BUY resale - they NEVER tell you your TS is almost worthless on the resale market.

I am a resale owner and have several friends that are as well.
I am always able to make my resies (winter Caribbean) at the 10 month mark when all owners can reserve.
