Redweek has created a new free web application to try and provide an estimate of value for a timeshare that is for sale or for rent. It's a nice gimmick and eliminates the cma fee that was previously charged. I will say, however, that the end result is not anywhere as accurate as when the valuation was being provided by their affiliated resale broker.
The new tool does not take into consideration any ownership details such as week, season, unit type, view type, or even whether the ownership is annual or otherwise. It simply averages pricing for all ads placed.
All in all I think it is a nice advertising ploy by Maurice that should help push traffic and generate future leads for the website. I don't see much actual value to consumers however, in that it simply doesn't provide accurate info.
Any other thoughts on this?
