Hotel Awards for II trades?????

In January we were at an Orlando Marriott on an II exchange. Due to snow and flight cancellations, I paid out of pocket for 1 night at the end of our trip.

I just realized when I logged into my Marriott rewards account, they gave me credit for 8 nights.

Was this a fluke because I added the extra night and paid for it. Or, can you typically give the front desk your reward number and get credit for all stays.

Yes if you give them your rewards number then they will give you credit towards elite status nights. You also earn points on anything you buy while charging during your timeshare stay.
