    CTC scammers

They say they get the data from RCI. I'm outside the U.S. and still call me asking me to pay upfront $199 per week and want to reserve 15 weeks, then offer to pay me for each over $ 2000. It is impossible to be true, they want to steal $199 from each of the weeks and this is certainly for them (a bargain).
If it was a good deal and truth they would pay the advances and then they would give customers less than $ 2000 and everyone happy.
No doubt, make a living cheating and have to be good for it

Corp Travel Concepts just called me again

To follow up on Corporate Travel Concepts.
Today, they called me three times and on the fourth call, I finally answered (he identified himself this time using a very common first and last name and sounded like an African American). He actually took offense to me cutting him off to ask questions like, "How much is this going to cost me tonight to rent my weeks with RCI?" He wanted $199 I think it was for starts, but it always goes up once they have you hooked.
He said that they were going to screen my worthiness to do business with them by checking to see if we were paid up on our mainetenance fees (what do my maintenance fees with Wyndham have to do with my RCI account?) I threw the old BS flag at him hard on this one telling him that he was losing what little respect I had left for him and fast.
He also said that it'd cost me $800 to rent this time with RCI and I corrected him on this (telling him it'd only be about $159 to convert points +/-) and many other facts he was throwing at me all the while bragging about his Marketing degree and licensing and going on and on about how much money I am going to make.
The most amazing part of the call was that my wife sitting across the room, could hear his voice getting louder and louder until he was actually yelling at me He even said that he wasn't sure that he'd want to do business with me for questioning his integrity! I am so ashamed for not believing him. I feel awful.
After telling him that I didn't appreciate being yelled at while being "sold", I hung up on him. I was tempted to get nasty with him, but that would've been even more immature than I already felt just for the little bit of sparring I had already done with him.
He then had the adacity to call me back and leave a not so nice and very unprofessional message with the answering service and call me "ignorant" for doing my research and reading all of your awesome feedback, warnings, and advice.
Thank you all for your time and input. I only hope that my few paragraphs can help someone out there as yours have helped me.
      Thank you all.

Corporate travel concepts not a scan

Hello I enrolled with corporate travel concepts about 2 years ago I started by renting 10 weeks I got my first checks within about 60 days at first I thought it was a scam. I understand that some people have had bad experiences with them, please explain. My rep warned me that some companies will use these forums in order to make a competitor look bad, I really hope that's not what is happening here. I informed my rep about these posts and his response was that their attorneys were investigating these claims, and want to file liable charges and law suits against those responsible. I hope this helps whomever is doing their research, as I have had a great experience with them.

        *******

Moderators note: Jennifer13 is almost certainly a shill for the company. As indicated by the discussion below, the company hasn't even existed as an entity for one year, so she can't have been using them for two years. In addition, the EIN number (that's the business equivalent of a Social Security Number) and the names of the Principals for Corporate Travel Concepts are the same as those of another company that has a consumer fraud complaint filed against it by the Florida Attorney General for running a nearly identical scam operation.

                "wait, what?..."

I'm sorry if you've had a bad experience with Corporate travel concepts, but I haven't. I make a little money every year...maybe you should speak to one of the managers.

Excuse me but your story is unbelievable

                    The facts are suspect,

                    1) that you rented 10 weeks , hardly anybody not in the rental business even owns 10 weeks per year.

                    2) My rep warned me.... Please,

                    3) His attorneys are from the firm Dewey, Cheatum, and How?

                    4) I am sooo happy that I can't smell these posts as the are full of compostable animal feces.

For anyone reading Jennifer13's posts she is what we call a Shill, a person that posts great things about a company in the hopes of getting someone to use their services, in this companies case, to pay them UPFRONT to rent some weeks and receive nothing but a lower bank balance or a higher Credit card bill.

                    Greg

SO GLAD you found the site & the warning. You dodged a bullet. Try the free sites here & other timeshare sites and offer your week(s) with prepaid fees & closing covered. You'll still be under the $1000 you would have wasted & you'll have a real sale/transfer and make a new owner happy with a good deal. Win all around and not a dollar to the scammers.

same m.o., just a different name

It would have been tough for you Jennifer, to do business with Corporate Travel Concepts for the past 2 years; when according to state records they didn't even exist at that time.

The Corporate Travel Concepts application to do business in FL was not filed with the FL Dept of State, until 5/10/2011. That’s also about the time that GoDaddy received the application for the website corporatetravelconcepts.com. Obviously there isn’t a lot of info on Google, because it hasn’t been in business that long. But you will find some complaints and info on other websites about it.

Corporate Travel Concepts is owned and located at the same address as Global Resort Management, LLC, according to FL Dept of State records. It even uses the same FEIN, and FL EIN numbers, and some of the principals are the same.

By the way, Global Resort Management, LLC is currently being investigated according the the FL Attorney General’s office, Timeshare Resale Fraud website. Here are the details of the investigation:

                          Active Public Consumer-Related Investigation
The case file cited below relates to a civil -- not a criminal -- investigation. The existence of an investigation does not constitute proof of any violation of law.

                          Case Number: L10-3-1068
Subject of investigation: Global Resort Management, LLC

                          Allegation or issue being investigated:
Consumer complaints alleged the company was deceptive in their telemarketing practices. Consumers were led to believe that there were potential renters/buyers for their timeshares.

It is also alleged after payment was given consumers were unable to contact the company.

AG unit handling case: Economic Crimes Division in Orlando, Florida
Could this be another classic case of changing the name, as the heat gets turned up by the FL authorities? You be the judge....

                            Yet another CTC story

I am new to this forum and I am sooooo glad I read these posts. I will never fall for this scam. If they call me, I will simply say, "No thanks." and hang up. I bought my time share with the expectation of enjoying it to the fullest extent, not to make a quick profit (doubtful that could happen, given the current state of the economy).

A coworker of mine told me recently that his in-laws were contacted by CTC and took the bait. After giving out their credit card information they had second thoughts about doing business with CTC. It seemed too good to be true that they were going to earn lots of money renting their time share. In addition, they asked themselves why anyone in their right mind would agree to give out credit card information to a nameless, faceless person making cold calls. It was like handing the keys to the hen house to a sly fox.

My coworker suggested they Google the words "Corporate Travel Concepts". That's how they discovered this website and the current discussions about the company. They checked their credit card balance and discovered CTC had billed their card even before the contract had arrived! So, when the contract arrived, they read it carefully and noticed a 7-day right to cancel. They refused to sign anything, and wrote back to CTC asking for a full refund. The company tried calling them by phone everyday thereafter, hoping to change their minds. One caller informed them they were not entitled to a refund because the money was already spent on activation fees! So, the in-laws cancelled their charge card and disputed the charge. Eventually they got their money back.

Moral of the story...if something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

                              CTC Follow-up

As a result of posting on this forum, I received a private message from someone who was scammed. Even worse, unlike my colleagues' in-laws, this person used a debit card! Ouch!!!

Without divulging any details, here's the advice I gave:

                              1. Visit the Federal Trade Commission’s website. Be sure to review the following pages:

Phone Call Scams | Recognize & Report Telemarketing Fraud | Who's Calling?

Add your phone number to the National Do Not Call Registry list (888-382-1222) and inform all future callers to place your number on their Do Not Call list; then hang up!

                              Travel Telemarketing Scams

                              2. Visit the Florida State Attorney General's office, Timeshare Resale Fraud website Florida Attorney General - Timeshare Resale. Click on the link: “File a complaint”. Another page will appear: Economic Crimes Contact Form. Fill out the information and click the submit button at the bottom of the page.

It also helps to notify your time share's manager that you were contacted by Corporate Travel Concepts. Time share companies are learning more about these fraudsters every day; some might not be familiar with CTC but may be very familiar with the parent company Global Resort Management LLP.

Contact info for Corporate Travel Concepts

I live in Orlando and just received a call from Ashley Brown of Corporate Travel Concepts. She wants to rent my 11 RCI weeks that expire in Feb 2012. She can guarantee me a rental fee of $1500/wk after I pay only $149 to activate the RCI week. Of course, I am to pay this fee directly to her and she will handle all the paperwork, agreements, and bookings for me.

Sounded too good to be true. Told her I would call her back tomorrow. I researched the company and ended up here.

Her phone # is 407-990-9062. I just called it back to see if it was actually a working number, and the same woman answered.

                                Watch out for these people!
