  • The junk calls are starting back up again!

I've gone months and months without any of the timeshare resale calls, and for the past week I have been getting at least once a day. I expected it to start back up in the fall around MF time. Wonder why they're gearing up now???

Me too. I've been ignoring at least 2 calls a day, and today I actually had 3 different companies leave messages. Most are from companies wanting to help me get rid of my timeshare, but one today was offering to help me rent my week. I think I need to change my phone number!

Might not be a bad idea to tell them you never owned a timeshare or lead them on and waste their time-making it a less profitable scam.

I've stopped answering my phone if I don't recognize the number. I'm getting, at a minimum, one per day. Two or three telemarketer type numbers doesn't seem unusual right now.

Unfortunately I answered the phone once and it turned out to be a computer generated call that was trying to target when we were home. It hung up when I answered. Now we're getting all sorts of calls from unavailable numbers at that time of day.

I usually ignore the calls as well. However, I got frustrated enough at one particular number that had been calling at least twice a day for a couple of weeks, that I did answer. The person said they were calling me back because I had called asking for help getting rid of my timeshare. I told them I was very happy with my ownership and to put me on the do not call list.
That ended that one, at least.

            Last night it was Bluegreen.

We are on the Fed and State No Call lists, and yesterday I sent an email to our AG.

It said we signed up for No Call because we were tired of the inconvenience and hassle of answering the phone all the time, and that I have been reporting all unwanted calls . . . but I have quit reporting them because it is so much more hassle to find out what number called us and to try to ascertain who it is/was, and then file a complaint, than it is to do the old fashioned method . . . hang up.

The threat of No Call has not stop them . . . just created new ways to avoid detection.

A couple of times I've called the number back that showed on my caller ID. Once it answered with a recorded message saying to press 1 to be taken off their call list. I pressed 1.
