  • Starting the closing process for my first timeshare!

    Hello,
I just won a Timeshare auction online recently and am both excited about becoming a timeshare owner and a little worried about the closing process.

I got a decent deal for 1 floating week (Red Season) at HGVC Waikoloa biennial (odd years).
I am using Timeshare Closing Services Inc. and hope the closing process doesn't drag on too long (or raise any issues).

    Questions:
Has anyone used Timeshare Closing Services Inc previously ? I've googled them and by and large they seem sound.
This week hasn't been transferred into points yet - I believe 1 floating week in red season at HGVC Waikoloa is worth 4800 HGVC points.
Is that correct? Where can I confirm the point value for this please ?
Does HGVC have ROFR at The Bay Club Waikoloa ?

Yes, I should have gotten answers for these questions prior to bidding but thought the final price was better than most others recently sold so i jumped.

I'm hoping to get this wrapped up quickly but guess around three months for the closing process to run its course.

Congratulations on your first purchase, and welcome to the world of Timesharing!

I used Timeshare Closing Services in most of my purchases and had no issues with them. In fact, I think they were the quickest to close any of mine at just over a month.

From my experience, patience will help and contacting them everyonce inawhile to make sure everything is going ok is always warrented.

As for ROFR somebody else will have to answer that one!

Keep an eye on the closing- I had 2 for 2 bad experiences with them, and they were very slow.

I've been fine with them. Review your docs carefully as you would with any closing company.

I bought a Hawaii week and they did the closing. No problems and the resort
had me as the owner in just over 5 weeks. They had good communication along
the way and I even called them once with a question. Talked directly with a
live person who answered my questions.
I'm going to the Big Island for the first time in October.I'll be going by
the Bay Club to check it out. We may trade into it when we head back to the
Big Island. We own 2 weeks in Kauai.
I had a different closing company for my second week. They got it done a week
sooner than Timeshare Closing services., just to give you a comparison. I think
they both did them in a reasonable amount of time.

I bought a unit about two weeks ago, and they were the closing company. The new deed was recorded by the county in a week, and now I'm just waiting for title department to process it.
