  • TimeShare given as a gift - HELP

    Hello all,
any advice would be appreciated. 5 years ago my husband and I were given a timeshare as a wedding gift.

Its a BlueGreen Oasislakes, Orlando. week 47. we have never signed anything nor do we have any paperwork giving us details of what we actually own.... all we have is the deeds that say it is in our name. we have used it a couple of times but cant afford the maintenance fees...

can someone advise us where we stand?? do we have a responsibility? can we get rid of it?

    thanks in advance. Gemma

You can offer it here in the Freebie section

    or over on Tug
Bargain Deals - Timeshare Users Group Online Community Forums

The unit is valueless, so giving it away to get rid of those annual fees makes good sense.

    Best of luck, Greg

It's all yours. Getting rid of it is hard right now because of the economic status. you could give it away---try our freebies forum. Being thanksgiving time, you might just be able to sell it for a little money. The thing to watch out for is resellers who will tell you they can get big bucks for it---all they want is an upfront fee and they could care less if they sell it. You might try a classified ad here. Check the forum for do's and don'ts on selling and transferring ownership. Don't be afraid to ask questions.

Yeah.....that is almost how I got my first TS. MIL gave it to us as a Christmas present.

Could have been worse - could have been a dog - its a float week in Daytona area.

MF are more than I would like.....but at least I get an AC from II for my deposits....which we always use.

One of these days when I have the time - it's going to the freebie board!

Must have been a coal shortage that Christmas.
