What's best for one isn't necessarily best for others. I think DVC is over priced for what you get, but if someone goes to Disney parks right regular and must stay onsite, it's probably good value for them. DVC isn't that tough to trade into, so long as you're flexible, but I wouldn't want to depend on trading in if staying onsite was really important to me.

You also have to figure added fees -- for people who stay weeks at a time, systems with fees for housekeeping, or for reservations or whatever, are a better deal because they don't do the kind of thing that kicks up the fees. For others, who prefer shorter stays, those systems don't work as well because they feel like they're being nickled and dimed to death.

Wyndham is a good deal for people who want a lot of choices; Bluegreen, Shell, DVC, and even WorldMark (I think) are smaller systems, so while they may (or may not) be cheaper in terms of MFs, they're also offering less for your money in that sense. But if they've got resorts where you want to go, they're a bargain.

Sounds like Wyndham is a good deal for you; if it's not getting you something you want, or if you want to add at least another week of vacation, look into the others, but if you're just wondering if you have the "best" deal, I'd say stay put. It's more about the best fit than the best deal, IMHO. If it's a good deal for you, and a good fit, you're doing well.

Anyone interested in purchasing a points system should always take their time to make a decision on which program will work best for them. Start by writing a list of where you would like to vacation in the future. Then, match that wish list to point programs which offer affiliates in those destinations.

This should help you narrow down your choices. Then, you can take the time to research the costs, rules, and reviews for those programs to determine which system works best for you..

As a specific recommendation- Hobbitess is absolutely correct.. The grass is not always greener on the other side..

I agree that you take the time to research the costs, rules, and reviews for those programs to determine which system works best for you.

I looked at DVC for awhile because we love Orlando and Disney. I have a hard time with the fact that its leased to you vs. a purchase. Growing up my folks looked at number ones including Fairfield Resorts. It was not until I started hearing of the points system for many these that I got serious. My wife and I found Bluegreen by total chance. They have resort locations that we are interested in the system that works for us.

Do your homework. Buy resale if you can.
