  • Ebayer Selling Getaways????

GIVE the GIFT of TRAVEL, InnSeason Resorts - Pollard Brook | eBay

Funny how all the units that are offered are also available as getaways via II. Looked at her other auctions - same thing. Looked at her feedback and on a negative states "supplier" had a computer glitch. (more like the unit was no longer there once they found a buyer for it!)

    Taking chances selling these things.

Recommend reporting it on eBay as I have if you did not already.

If you are dealing with an owner renting their own week, it's fine. I've rented a few times with no problem.

          No longer available

A quick check, and after being reported "This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available." Also note that they have no other auctions either now.

Thank you Glitter, I have used ebay a few times for different things, but never tickets or vacations etc. I did see that the ebay buyer protection doesn't apply to vacation purchases/rentals...the ones I saw anyway.

If you decide to try it, I recommend asking for proof that the seller actually owns the week you are renting. If it's an II or RCI exchange, they are not allowed to rent those and you'd risk cancelation if they got caught.

I have ended ebay auctions early because I got a better offer from a non ebay site or after listing it on ebay or a offer from a previous customer. Those that see my ads on some other sites see I post a copy of our confirmed reservations or offer to send a copy of the reservation.

From some but not all ebayers you get ridiculous low ball offers on rentals.

A big ebay problem is what happened to me on a for sale auction on Dec 12, 2011. The winner did not honor their Buy It Now bid of $3131.00 which ended the 30 day auction only 9 hours after it was posted. After 3 billings from me the bidder called they were a little short of money but would pay before Christmas.

I sent them a email if they wanted I would give them a 2 bedroom week at the same resort that also could be used for any week of the year for $1,199. like the 3 bedroom in the auction if they could not afford the 3 bedroom unit. When I called after Christmas their phone had been discounted. Seeing I had waited more than 4 days to post a unpaid claim I only had to wait 4 more days for a resolution.

The results of that resolution are I do not pay the selling fee as the sale was not paid for. But ebay will not refund the about $52.50 for the ad that their AUTHORIZED Bidder made only 9 hours it was listed. So my unit was taken off the market by the AUTHORIZED ebay Bidder for almost one month. What ticks me off is that this bidder gets to keep their 100 % rating based on one auction.

Here are my replies to ebay.

Also it appears from our ebay billings from June 15, 2011 to Dec 15, 2011 we paid out $1,740.29 to ebay and about $1,000 or more were timeshare for sale listings on ebay . After our current for sale listings end on ebay we will most likely not post any of our normal 2 to 4 timeshare for sale listings per month for at least a month that cost us over $50 each to protest ebays UNFAIR treatment of us over item number 110792183156 when ebay PERMITS a EBAY APPROVED buyer to ruin our ads.

                  Subject: Re: LISTING FEES

Ebay appears not to do the right and fair and proper thing at this time. Why should we pay to relist a for sale when a ebay PERMITS a EBAY APPROVED buyer to ruin our ad costing over $50 only 9 hours after it was posted and that buyer RIDICULOUSLY retains a 100% ebay APPROVAL rating.

It is not FAIR and we should not have to pay for ebay letting that ebay APPROVED BUYER to not have to pay for ruining our auction and not being held accountable. Ebays UNFAIR policy towards sellers enabling buyer to be irresponsible and costing us our hard earned money of over $50. Then ebay wants us to expose ourselves again to lose another $50 by maybe letting another ebay APPROVED BUYER to not have to pay for ruining our auction . No thank you at this time. But instead of posting 2 to 4 for sale 30 day for sale actions each month like we have for months resulting in at least $100 to $200 per month profit for ebay they lose that amount of business next month for one month once our other for sales end.

We will at this time decline your offer of " You'll be charged a second insertion fee, but if the item sells the first time that you relist it, we'll credit this insertion fee back to your account" Bruce F. Czajkowski
