  • RSI Escapes Vacation: is it a good buy (10 nights for $199)?

After we refused to buy into GeoHoliday, we went for their last offered option: RSI escapes Vacation.

For $199 we can (allegedly) get 7 nights RCI week plus come back to Jockey Club for 3 nights.

10 nights in condo with kitchen for $199 sounds like a good deal, ~$20/night.

Are there any pitfalls that we should know about, except having to talk again to some timeshare guy in Jockey Club? What kind of RCI week we can expect to get? I can still cancel it, I think, or dispute it through credit card if something is wrong with this package.

Wow! Did they copy someone's name?

If it's for real, that's a good deal. That's the problem with timeshare, figuring out what's for real, since what is said so seldom is.

There is nothing about timeshare that you know is for real until you actually use it, or try to.

When I google RSI Escapes Vacations, the only hit is your post. That's a bit disconcerting.

        Yes, I see this too.

        This package is issued by:
        RSI Travel Services
        PO Box 98058
        Las Vegas, Nevada, 89193-8058

        Another address there is:
        RESORT STAY INTERNATIONAL, LLC
        PO Box 4184
        Stateline, NV 89449
        702-699-5323

Documents also refer to Endless Vacation Rentals ("EVR") Resort Vacation Certificate. They promise one of those, and this will entitle us to 1 RCI week.

Wow! More copying . . . or is it really affilliated with RCI?

          Some who knows might know.

I know Nevada licensing has always been involved with a lotta that stuff.

Googling that does not clear the murky water.

Sound like a scam. 10 nights for $199 equates to just 19.99 per night. Wow great buy; but I would read the fine print / lines twice.

Actually, in the office they said $199 gets you an RCI week plus 3 nights Jockey Club.
And the documents also talk about some $75 nonrefundable fee that should be submitted only as a money order. And no mention of RCI at all. Just some Endless Vacation Rental certificate for a week, whatever that means.

So this must be a scam. I will have to dispute this $199 charge.
You just can't buy anything from these scumbags at all.

The certificate will probably give you access to RCI bonus weeks, the ones that they can't rent and exchangers do not want. Not much of a deal at all.

I called them, they assured me that $75 processing fee is actually refundable.
And here is the web site with resort selection: resortcerts.com
They for ex. have BlueGreens resort in Las Vegas and few Wyndham resorts on Kauaii on short notice.

These are the same kind of certs you can get off skyauction. They are ok. At least you can preview the availability at the website. Don't count on more becoming available in the summer with the exception of some deserty or maybe Florida. If you have never stayed in timeshares and can travel in the off season its not bad. It will get you to places that are given probably 6 or less out of RCI's tpu scale. It gives you an opportunity to upgrade for more money to a few more locations but those are almost never a good deal. I used these before I had too many TS to use. The 3 days are just the typical 3 night "free" pitch in Vegas. It's worth the $199 if you have the time and are willing to on another presentation. If not rescind. Try to get the fact that the $75 is refundable in writing. If the documentation says in non-refundable it probably is regardless of what they say on the phone. $274 might be too high to keep unless you know there is something you like in the inventory.

This is total and ultimate scam.

They very conveniently named their company "RSI" so it sounds a bit like RCI. Orally they were talking about RCI, I even asked if this is really any RCI resort, and they said yes. Then they give you documents to sign, and when you read them they only talk about RSI.

In addition, documents talk about two $75 deposits. One is refundable, another is not, making total not $199 but $274.

Total false advertising pushed by scam artists from GeoHoliday. I disputed $199 charge through the credit card.

                          RSI Vacations

Just a thought, check the Better Business Bureau. I have found that a google search pulls up opinionated blogs about just about anything, but sometimes some people blow their discontent out of proportion, and other times they are dead on!! I know that when I checked up on Wyndham they were and F due to all of their unsettled complaints about their sales staff, then I check on a travel club called Gold Crown Resorts they were an A. I have owned and used both programs and these ratings have been pretty accurate and unbiased. And it is good to hear it from a 3rd party with out an agenda.

you can buy them yourself at your site for 599, if you use
Resort Vacation Certificates:*Home they are 249, last week they were 199.

You can see exactly what it available, it's all last minute and over supply stuff and much of it requires 'upgrade' at additional cost.
