I golf with a guy who walked away from a couple of ts contracts. When they called he told them that he had died. I will have to ask him how that went.

Well, if they were not sympathetic, and didn't offer their condolences, that would just go to show you what kind of people they are.

When a person passes away and there is no communication with the resort then the issue becomes much different. The heirs have no responsibility to take over the contractual obligations or to even send a death notice. If the resort does manage to actually communicate with someone and is told that person has passed away they have a few choices to make. My bet is they take the path of least resistance.

None of this is a problem in timesharing. Everyone loves their timeshares and wants to keep them forever. Money is never an issue; owners love paying all the fees.

                  Update.

I got a call from a collection agency. I told them I had sent the deed back and I couldn't afford it anymore due to my high medical bills. Also explained until this point I had never missed a payment nor was I ever late. He suggested I open a new credit card (because I had a high credit score) I told him I had a good score because I paid ALL my bills on time. Told him hmmm, chose from paying for a ts or paying my medical bills. He understood, but told me they may put a judgement on me. Told them, they could do whatever they needed to do but I did what I needed to do. I wished him well and have heard nothing since.

Judgement and judgment. Funny words that I mix up frequently. Not that I would have any experience, but in legal context it is judgment. It was the judgement of the person you were talking to that they would seek a judgment.

                    Good luck.

                      Sorry I missed this.

That's funny, given the context here.

Down payment, heck , here it might buy the house!!!
