  • Conversion to points from weeks.

I am a "week" owner at Celebrity which as many know are converting to points. I was at the resort in May and did not take the time to attend an owner's meeting to hear how great I will have it when I fork over $$$$ for points. So far I have only exchanged through "Celebrity Plus" - the resort's owner exchange program. I'm fairly new at this game.

I have been viewing this forum and TUG, and believe I can't be forced to convert to the point system.

My question is when I do deposit with II, can the resort also charge me a fee for exchanging a week, along with II exchange fee. Basically, penalizing me for not converting over to points?

My second question is, since Celebrity is going to be affiliated with RCI, if I were to join RCI also, can I trade through either II or RCI.

No, If you deposit a week in any exchange company the resort can't charge you a fee.

In most cases, when a resort switches exchange companies, the old owners still retain the option of using the old exchange company. So, if celebrity is currently associated with II, it will likely have to remain associated with II for some time. New owners may not be given the option of using II and may be required to use RCI. And old owner can probably use either.

    Hope that helps
