  • necessities and other goodies provided at the resorts

Has anyone noticed a reduction in what resorts provide in the units? I've noticed that some resorts have stopped the coffee and tea starter kits and even reduced the number of extra TP provided. I would imagine several resorts have done so for cost cutting.

The Grand Pacific resorts are a bit spartan on what they provide. They have some of the highest MFs anywhere, but I've also heard that our gas and electric company charges more than any other in the whole country.

The exception to the GP resorts was Villa Lauberge. They provided everything - doubles of everything, including coffee, tea, hot chocolate and popcorn. Nice quality toiletries, too. However, they do have a high end spa on site, so that is probably why their little bottles of stuff are offered in the villas.

      Worldmark still good

We still get the usual at Worldmark but they go one step ahead with a spice kit.

Yes, I love my Worldmark and the spices including cinamon.

I have noticed that our UVC has items available in the room that are for purchase. They are clearly marked and are charged to the room if consumed.

I know this is sort of a small thing, but it seems more and more places only have a TINY soap, a small shampoo and no conditioner...that just annoys me.

I've noticed a slight pull back on goodies at the Marriott's, but nothing too dramatic..........At any rate, housekeeping consistently leaves their cart unattended while they attend to vacant rooms. So........

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

My wife just goes to the housekeeper out in the hall and asks for extra shampoo, soap, etc., etc. This always works for her in both hotels and timeshares. The hotel where we stay quite often has very high end soap, shampoo etc. When we checked out a couple weeks ago, my wife stopped at the cart and asked for some of their soap to take home. She gave my wife a whole bag full plus shampoo. We also get extra towels, and other stuff.

                  That's great!

I don't normally use the shampoo & Conditioner because my hair is too long, as is my DD's. I always take my own toiletries with me, or buy them when I get there.....I do love extra towels tho, and sometimes coffee.

My most recent exchange, Bahia Blanca on Gran Canaria, through DAE, had the best bag of goodies I have seen including a quart of milk, butter, coffee, tea, sugar, salt, pepper, cereal, a loaf of bread, jam, and a bottle of water. There was maid service every other day where they replenished the shampoo, soap, tp, etc.

I just booked another week at Bahia Blanca through DAE, this time as a wedding gift for one of my local staff for her honeymoon.
