    Email that just arrived:

    Dear (Me, by name),

Our Customer Service Department has been trying to reach you, but we have been unsuccessful as the phone number we have attached to your account is disconnected. In our continued effort to provide you with the best services possible, it is important that we have your contact information up to date in our system. Please call or e-mail us at your earliest convenience with the best way to reach you. Thank you for your time, we look forward to your continued business and your complete satisfaction in our services!

My guess is that they bought my name from one of the less scrupulous, if there is one that is less , companies we have done business with, say like Wastegate, whom we know has sold our name before, but, these folks know they can't call me, legally, unless I contact them first. (not that legally ever stopped anyone in the timeshare business)

How dumb do I feel today?

No emails yet but I get calls from people that say they are with UVC and need to get some info for my upcoming trip. My wife told them where we were going by talking to the person about our planed excursions. I then got on the phone and asked who this was and how did you get this number ? The person said "We are with UVC" and wanted my email. I told her that UVC allready has my email as I recieve their updates every quarter. Then I was offered an all inclusive trip and they needed my email. They didn't get it but still call us every other month.

I used to get calls that I would refer to my FIL. He did figure it out and paid me back. I figured out that he had figured it out and had paid me back so I called him on April 1 and asked him to bail me out of jail. He actually went down to bail me out while I went over to his house to drink his beer and wait for him to get back home. Ha Ha. He was a little mad mostly because we drank all but 1 beer.
25 years later he did get me back.
