  • Scammed into Buying

    Hi guys,

I recently bought two weeks in Samui Peninsula Resort in Koh Samui, Thailand. After buying the package, I came to realise I had been set up. I was given a scratch card (like the lottery ones) and was told I had won a camcorder. I stayed for about 8 hours as the wife and I really were unsure about it all. The guy we had speaking to use was very nice but when we said 'no' another larger man came over and gave the young man a real humiliating berating in front of us, telling us he had clearly not done his job if we weren't interested.

I don't consider myself a mug, but after a little while I thought 'what the hell' and went and bought.

I didn't get a camcorder, instead I got a 'free holiday' which doesn't include flights and doesn't seem to be much worth at all. Later in a restaurant I was told that this larger man was all part of the act and that no one ever wins a camcorder and I'd had the wool pulled over my eyes.

I have to say, it really put a downer on not only my holiday but the purchase too. No matter how satisfied I might have been otherwise, I just feel bitter that I'd been duped and wish I never bought the damn thing now!

Has anyone else been duped like this?

    Thanks,

    Tony

Almost everyone who ever bought an overpriced, retail timeshare could tell a similar tale. Do they offer rescission laws there? If so PLEASE use it quickly! Once you own it you'll find it's worth pennies on what you just paid and that too can ruin your enjoyment. Best wishes to you.
