I stayed there once in the 2 bedroom houses on the beach side.
Very nice place. I'd go back if it wasn't so far from me.
I think you will like it.

The area is very nice and the resort was nice when I went about 7 years ago.
The resort covers both beach and bay side.
The have a nice pool on the bay side facing the city.

The beach was nice and it's real close to Anna Marie Island where you could go for dinner.
We also visited Busch Gardens one day while there.
It was a bit far but doable.

If you call RCI and ask nice (but be persistant) they can tell you which unit is assigned for the exchange. Then call Little Gull and they will tell you where the unit is located (gulf or bay side). Both are nice however so it's not the biggest deal.

We vacation every year in the area as we own at Umbrella Beach Resort on Anna Maria Island. It's my DH's favorite place.

You can hang out on various beaches (Siesta Key is about 30 minutes away I think and is routinely voted a top beach), fish, dolphin watch, take a sunset cruise, shop in St. Armand's Circle or go into Sarasota (all the big department stores), lots of casual as well as fancy places to eat, go shell and shark tooth hunting, take a gondola ride, etc. Lots to do. Lots of places to just relax in a beautiful setting.

can't you just go to the beach right there? i live 5 miles from beaches of bonita and fort myers, don't want to drive to the beach.
RCI won't tell me the unit number and the resort 's line isn't working right now.
Been to siesta Key twice, anna marie island three times, and lido key once. really just intereested in if I should take the resort. if it is not near a beach I don't want it.

As JLB says, the resort is on or near the beach, depending on which unit you get. The Gulf side units are right on the beach. The Bay side units are across the road so you'd have to cross the street, walk thru the scrub on to the beach. Not a big deal.

Take it Pat. I doubt you'll be disappointed.
It's a nice place that doesn't come up often for exchange.

              Enjoy.

Hey Pat, I just found out yesterday the young guy in our Pro Shop is going to intern at the Colonial in Ft. Myers this winter. He's from North Carolina (I cringe just typing that) and he's never been to SW FL.

I tried to tell him about the area.
