Another update: our first use year starts next year but I was anxious so I rented from an owner. I rented a unit at the Riviera Beach and Spa that is the same kind of unit and season that we bought.

Our vacation was fantastic! Some snippets:

We saw dolphins from our balcony! They just happened to swim by close to the beach and one even jumped up!

We enjoyed hanging out at the beach three times, building sand castles and exploring tidepools. We also rented a silly bike (trike) and rode it around Doheny Beach.

We went to Legoland and had a blast (as usual - we have passes because we love that place). It was a quick half hour drive away.

We enjoyed the resort's pool and hot tub. We also used the balcony gas BBQ. That was great!

Overall... Great vacation! Can't wait to go back
