Then, let people know where u r deeded. The resort and week/unit are important with Blugreen because let's say you re deeded summer weeks at Big Cedar. As the owner, you can opt to use your unit each year by notifying able green 13-11 months 1day before check in and the unit is yours. That is worth a lot to many people and they would pay money for that ownership. I would d o the same for points ownership deeded at La Cabana Aruba.
Even if not deeded at these properties, people on the Bluegreen Yahoo Group would/might be interested in obtaining your ownership once the loan is paid off.
So contrary to JLBs always negative posts, there are timeshares that have some value on the resale market. And this one if free and clear could be one of those.

It occurs to me that if even the experienced and omnisicient (speaking of those who have been on Internet forums for years and years, and more and more seem to have become disenchanted. . . besides me) cannot unload unwanted timeshares, think how tough it is for the unannointed.
Like I said, before, don't look for help, sympathy, condolences, pity, etc., from those still in the Honeymoon phase. Even those who claim to have a way to unload them seem reluctant to share their wisdom.
But, let's face it, if there was an exit strategy, there would be no need for PCCs.

You have been advised to do the following
Post your ownership here on this website for free and offer to pay closing costs
Post on Craigslist in the area where timeshare is located.
Place on eBay with a $0.99 opening bid and offer to pay closing costs.
Take a paid ad on Redweek and MyResortNetwork for a small fee and offer for $1 and pay closing costs.
Post on www.tug2.net Bargain Board for free offering to pay closing costs.
Also post in the TUG Marketplace with the same conditions.
Contact your resorts management and see if they have an owners group where u can post your giveaways.
Let us know how u do in 6 months.....if u r persistent, you will get rid of your ownerships

As far as the rest, most here would know I have done those things, most of them (both here and things). I've come close to getting rid of a couple a few times, the ones that have some value not related to timesharing, but, gosh, something or other has stopped folks from going through with it. Wonder what it might be?
Kinda funny about eBay, though . . . back from where they came.
See, it is not that they cost money to buy, that is the rub, since they are from Association Quiet Title action and from PCCs, for "free". it is the $3000 every year for something no longer of use, likely the same concern of most who are done with theirs. Bought right, as those who have been on Internet forums for years would know to do, but . . .

Other than blatant shills, I still have not heard/seen an exit strategy.
But, it does tend to illustrate the depths the industry has sunk to.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick

Presumably you are speaking only of Bluegreen, because I discussed another resort with you on another thread that has an exit strategy-deebacks.

And where I responded to JLB! I was referring to his 6 weeks of timeshare ownership ( not any other real property he is trying to sell).

So, JLB you have an exit strategy you just don't like it. You complain that you loose money every year you can't rent them to cover the MF's. At what point do you say the hell with it? It sounds like you have lost more over the years, than it would have cost you to have one of these PCC's get rid of it for you. Wouldn't you be better of to pay the money to give it to them then continue to loose money year after year?
Or do you just like the sound of your own voice complaining that much?

Or it could be just plain common sense, that you should not have to pay someone to get rid of something that should have had an exit strategy to begin with.
This is not a JLB problem, or a problem of the thousands who do not use them any more and are stuck with them. It is a problem of the industry. The industry is selling for thousands of dollars what people they have already sold too for thousand of dollars cannot even give away.
If these are such great deals, if there is such great value in timeshares, why don't they just take them back and resell them to the millions who must be clamoring to get one of them? Oh, because if they let people go when they didn't want them any more, then it would collapse. I see.
The exchange companies have also abandoned the interests of timeshare owners.
I feel the way I do because it is the truth of the situation and I say the things I do because people who come here for advice should hear both sides, my side coming from 25-plus years, 125-plus exchanges, II and RCI membership, and more than 15 years of daily interaction on internet timeshare forums.
I have also had inside sources and am very, very close to industry mucky mucks today.
In most cases it simply does not make sense for someone to lock themselves into a permanent, ongoing financial obligation to get something that is readily available for less on the Internet, and elsewhere, with no ongoing obligation.
In recent years I have been amazed by how many I know from over the years on these forums have reached the same conclusion, and gotten out however they could. There is, simply, widespread disenchantment with timesharing, and timesharing has itself to blame.RCI Member Since 24-Aug-1989/150-plus Exchanges***THE TIMESHARE GRIM REAPER~~~Exchanging/Searching/SW Florida/MO/AR/IA/Consumer Advocacy/Estate Planning/Sports/Boating/Fishing/Golf/Lake-living/Retirement****Sometimes ya just gotta be a dick
