  • More promotion of RCI rentals to the general public

Why buy a timeshare when they are renting out weeks to the general public?

I don't see much in these resort certificate inventory that I really want to use.
I did use one for Cypress Palms in Orlando once and that worked out nicely but other than Orlando there wasn't a whole heck of alot to write home about.
I actually had a certificate expire cause I just couldn't find anything acceptable that I would want to use it at near me and I live in FL.
If you only wanted to go to Orlando or Vegas then I guess it's a good deal if you aren't too picky about your resort choices but you
won't be getting a Bonnet Creek unit with these. At least not yet.

Arnmed Forces Vacation Club and Government Employees

We have used both of these in the past

Our first timeshare stay was a 3 bedroom
at Hilton Grand Vacation Club in Orlando

        The Armed Forces Vacation Club

Government Employees can purchase one week
timeshare rentals for as little as $349 per week.

Checked out a timeshare in Australia that I like and what's really annoying is that they have both the 1br and 2br on the Endless Vacation site, but only the 1 br on RCI. Also one of the unit was cheaper by over $50 on Endless Vacation.
My RCI account is due for renewal within the year and I'm inclined not to renew seeing what they do with owners' units.

What Chris said. Someone on the Dis brings up the vouchers every six months or so, and I check the listings out, but they never have better deals when and where I want to go. Once I did see a better deal for the general public than I had gotten with my TS, but it was a Wyndham in Orlando two months out -- and not the Wyndham I had seriously considered, either. I expect if I was going to Vegas or liked Wyndham's offerings in Myrtle Beach more there'd be some there as well. Plus if I didn't need a 2 BR that sleeps eight, and if I had a more flexible schedule, I'd be happier waiting for those kinds of deals. As it is, though, owning a TS with RCI access works better for me. I'd look into joining II before I'd consider dumping my TS.
