  • Dial An Exchange Partners With Oombaga To Provide Mobile Exchange Applications

    Is anyone using Oombaga?

Oombaga is a mobile application which allows timeshare owners to pay maintenance fees, make reservations and carry out transactions with their resort. The middleware connects timeshare owners to their resorts making transactions seamless via any online and mobile device. Owners/members may choose float assignments, exchange, rent and book their time all in one place through tablets, smart phones, websites, emails and instant messaging.

Orlando, Florida – September 24, 2013 – (INTUITION by Perspective Group) – Dial An Exchange (DAE), the world’s largest independently owned vacation exchange company, has recently become the only international exchange company to partner with Oombaga, a direct to-owner mobile platform that connects timeshare owners to their resorts.

Commented Fermin Cruz, Vice President America’s Region for DAE, “We totally share Oombaga’s vision for making timeshare ownership more manageable, simple, and equally important … mobile. Their transaction platform provides an instant and seamless user experience. Our intention is to ensure that DAE’s services are available to anyone using their platform.”

“Owners utilizing Oombaga software have the ability to pay maintenance fees, deposit weeks, and make other transactions, including reservations and exchanges via any online or mobile device,” says Delaina Probus-Staley, founder of Triton Timeshare Software, which created Oombaga. “We are a ‘middleware’ company that enables entities serving a similar industry to ‘talk to each other’ and connect through a single interface.” Oombaga was honored at the American Resort Development Association’s (ARDA) World Convention with their annual Ace Innovator Award.

Because DAE does not employ a typical affiliation model, consumers are free to utilize their services to conduct a direct exchange. Because there is no barrier to entry, such as having to pay and process a membership fee in advance of exchanging or browsing inventory, transactions are simple and intuitive on the Oombaga platform. That, coupled with the fact that DAE does not employ any complicated valuation calculations, owners can bank their weeks easily and seamlessly after paying their maintenance fees.

Adds Cruz, “Our only requirement is that maintenance fees are paid. Using Oombaga, owners can access a simple application that helps them manage their vacation ownership where they live. On the road. At the touch of the screen they can review available inventory, deposit their vacation time, and ultimately conduct an exchange. It’s that easy.”

DAE has been working diligently with Oombaga for some time. “This is a great tool for vacation owners, for resorts and for DAE. Using the Oombaga mobile platform is another step we are taking to ensure that DAE’s services are available to any timeshare owner. We anticipate a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the Oombaga team and are delighted to see this amazing technology in play!”

With eleven offices worldwide and almost half a million members, DAE has enjoyed dramatic growth within the vacation ownership industry. As a new generation of owners and a new secondary market becomes available, providing choices, options and excellent service means more to the success of the industry than ever before.

Dial An Exchange is the world’s largest privately owned timeshare exchange provider with worldwide destination availability servicing over one million timeshare owners (including 450,000 direct members) at resorts and clubs through eleven offices worldwide.

I found the article in our athoc news but decided to post the Perspective article to appeal to the audience here.

It won an ARDA award -

Oombaga Wins Prestigious Ace Innovator Award at ARDA World 2013

Oombaga previously received the Innovator of the Year Award at Perspective Magazine’s GNEX2013 event.

The Oombaga software is powered by Triton Timeshare Software. Triton itself in known for both its property management software as well as its sales and marketing software which includes lead tracking, marketing management, payroll and forecasting tools, to highlight a few. Founded in 1997, Triton is used by numerous resorts including Tropic Shores, Daytona Beach, FL and The Galleon (Key West), Magen’s Point (St. Thomas).
      Here is the Oombaga website:

I think it sounds like it would be very useful for those people with a number of timeshares to manage.

My resorts already have online booking and levy payment, so not sure if this will be a benefit.

I suspect there are timeshares that are set up to exchange only with RCI and/or II and I'm wondering if the partnership is to assist the 'exchange process'.

Using the Oombaga mobile platform is another step we are taking to ensure that DAE’s services are available to any timeshare owner.
The exchange process can be more difficult with DAE in some circumstances. I haven't looked recently, (we are unable to travel much, due to "Elder-care" responsibilities) but to organise an exchange with AVC - I need to phone AVC, book a week with my points and tell them it is going to be deposited with DAE then phone DAE with the details of the week. Maybe people are put off by such a cumbersome system.
