So I just tried calling Valhalla to ask some questions about my unit, and the number listed on my confirmation was answered by TPI.... ??? I thought TPI was bought by Interval? Is there some special arrangement for the Whistler units, or does this happen with other resorts, too? Any insight would be appreciated, though I am more curious than really needing to know.

TPI also acts as a management company for several resorts. http://tradingplaces.com/management/managed-resorts
Kind of like VRI who also has VRIety exchanges, although tpi is open to everyone not just those who own at a managed resort.

Yes - TPI is the property manager for the resorts that were formerly known as Whiski Jack. When the owners kicked out Whiski Jack as the property manager, TPI landed the management contract. The Whiski Jack name now appears only in connection with inventory that is affiliated with Raintree Vacation Club.
So if you see a confirmation or reservation that says "Whiski Jack xxx" then the source of that inventory is via Raintree (i.e., an original Whiski Jack owner who joined Raintree or a unit that was sold by Raintree after Raintree acquired Whiski Jack). If the confirmation or reservation says the resort is "xxxx @ Whistler" then the underlying unit comes from an owner who did not join Raintree.“Maybe you shouldn't dress like that.”
“This is a blouse and skirt. I don't know what you're talking about.”
“You shouldn't wear that body.”

Very good, indeed!

But, I just got off the phone with the resort, and I appear to have a townhouse with 3 bedrooms, 2 1/2 baths, and private hot tub, with a shuttle to a lift and a 7 minute walk from Village Center. Renting from Whistler would be $450/night. So I'm good!

You will have a great time in Whistler and for sure you will enjoy Valhalla. We own at Twin Peaks next door and the location is great. Trading Places recently took over the management of the troubled Pacific Shores Resort on Vancouver Island and they are doing a bang-up job of righting that ship.
