  • The Little Extras

I am here at the Carlsbad Inn. They have beach cruiser bikes for your use and free DVDs during your stay. At Olympic Village Inn, they have nice terry bathrobes. Hyatt Highlands Inn was the first place I've stayed where they provided an umbrella and binoculars in the unit. The Hacienda Del Mar in Cabo had a bath scale--I guess so you could see how much you gained at happy hour.

What little extras have your enjoyed at resorts that you'd like to share?

At Ocean Pines in Berlin, Maryland, they had bikes for guests to use--that is a very nice extra.

I love when places have free entertainment, and Villa Roma in the Catskills has a show in their big lounge every night. You can buy a drink from the bar, but plenty of people don't, or bring their own drinks and snacks, and it's no problem.

I love when big resorts have free shuttles to take you around the resort. Smuggs has this, and so do Shawnee and Villas of Fairway/Treetops. We recently stayed at a Residence Inn in St. Louis that had a free shuttle to take you anywhere within three miles--including the Arch, the City Museum, the stadium, tons of places. This was great! I wish timeshares had this. Does anyone know of any that do?

When we stayed at a Wyndham resort in Branson (can't remember the name exactly), they offered wonderful entertainment and inexpensive dinners preceding the shows. It was so much fun! I also loved the Duelling piano guys at bonnet Creek.

When we were at Wyndham Bali Hai, Kauai this September, we were presented with fresh leis upon check-in. I was thrilled!

I love the coffee/tea/cookies in the lounge at the Manhattan Club each afternoon.

I always enjoy having the spices in the kitchen when staying at a Worldmark.

I am ecstatic if a resort provides hair conditioner.

Oh, that's another plus for the Four Seasons - great bath products. Used to be Bulgari, last time I was there it was L'Occitane.
