  • TSA Pre Check

Rita and I just received our TSA Pre-Check approval, with our Pre-Check numbers. ZI called AA and gave them the numbers, as we fly out to Cabo on the 8th. Hopefully this will lessen the long line experience, at least on the outbound leg.

Make sure you add it to your airline profiles and reservations

Make sure you go into your airline profiles and add your Trusted Traveler number, and if you have any existing reservations, you'll need to have an agent add the number to those reservations.

My husband and I flew to Maui last week and initially my boarding pass had TSA Pre and his didn't. I realized that since I'd booked his ticket out of my United account, I didn't have his number in there.

A quick call to reservations did the trick.

I have been in PreCheck for several years and I am also in Global Entry. After you read the below article, you may not be so excited about PreCheck. I have been thinking of switching to the regular lines at Dulles.

I did TSA Pre Check at Dulles. It was fantastic! We were flying out on a Friday afternoon and I was sure the airport would be mobbed. What was funny was that when dh and I went to the Pre Check line he wasn't allowed in (this was the first experience we'd had with Pre Check). So he went to the regular line, which was next to it, and there was no one in it. However, even with a few people ahead of me, I still made it through before he did.

I think it is an American Airline programme. You would be unlucky to be asked to remove your shoes and clothes with Qantas.

We also have TSA precheck and Global Entry. It is a great thing sometimes. We fly to Europe and the Middle East about 8 time,s sometimes more a year out of Dulles, and about every 3rd time either my husband or I are pulled for special screening, that has actually even included taking our passports to a small office for about 5 or10 minutes. The entire process sometimes lasts 30 or 40 minutes. We cannot figure this out. I think we look like your average Ma and Pa kettle. I make sure we leave way early for the airport because we don't want to miss a flight because of this . It is actually so bad I have thought of trying regular security for a few times to see if it would be any better.

That is good, I hate to fly without my clothes on.

I've just worked out that your Global Entry programme can be used with the Australian SmartGate programme. You will be able to self-process through passport control.

OK don't know how I got it but I have gone through TSA precheck several times during the last few months and it was a breaze. Where do I find my Trusted Traveler number so I can notify my airlines? So far I have gotten this on Jet Blue but not on all flights?
