We bought at one resort solely because of "owner benefits" (golf course) and some in Florida own at beachfront resorts for "beach access."
That last one's kinda funny . . . There's a certain resort on Siesta Key where the live-in resident manager hosts the weekly welcome breakfast. Locals are there every week, and are given obvious priority over the donuts, with the manager hovering and keeping count.

With Silverleaf I have seen M/F all over the board on this. The main M/F price is in the 800s. If you bought a second week from SL you could get a reduced fee on it. If this second deed is sold resale the M/F might transfer. If a deed is sold resale the Bonus Time might or might not transfer depends on what the seller has on it's deed...if it was an original deed or a resale deed.
I just saw a SL week on ebay for a 1 BR 1Bath with loft ...listed as a 2BR 1Bath lockoff and had 900 for M/F. got to be an error these are all cabins at this resort.
Some of the Presidentials and Ambassadors have higher M/F, I think.

Thanks, HopHop. Those MFs prob won't pay for me unless I can get some really good trading power to boot, but I will keep an eye out.

A 2-bedroom at Ozark Mountain Resort (Branson lake resort) for 4th of July is 21 with RCI. The same thing at Seaside is 28.

Agree, at least about the 21. 28 is not horrible. So it would only pay for me to buy where I want to go, and my wants don't seem to last long enough to really pay to do that unless where I want to go is also a great trader. BUT if that one MF gave me owner privileges year round at other resorts it would be (somewhat) amortized over other lower cost exchanges.

Yeah, it makes me wonder why no one will take my 17 TPUs with a $350 annual fee.

With Silverleaf we have the Endless Escape Bonus Program which allows us to use up to 6 nights for free also DayUse which is nice for Seaside. So living in Texas we have 6 Resorts we can get to pretty easy for free. Plus the other resorts if we want to drive further. So using that sort of makes up for the high M/F but my Galveston Seaside we pay reduced M/F for it. I think Seaside pulls better TPUs in the Summer than Branson but nowhere as much as my Landmark, Panama City Beach week. I can get around 50 TPUs for that depending what date checkin falls on.
Glitter, I notice you are from New York. The only Silverleaf Resort near there would be Oak'n'Spruce in MA. Since Silverleaf weeks don't have a very strong trading power (a few may be little better than others) and you would not get that much use out of the Bonus Program since now it is only for 3 nights free Sun thru Thurs and $49 for a Fri or Sat. if it transfers. I would look elsewhere for a stronger trading week
If you have a Seaside Presidential and lock it off you could get about the same TPUs for A side and the B side or maybe 1 TPU difference which is pretty good if it's 28 and 27.
