    In this thread:

    http://www.timeshareforums.com/forum...l-owing-on-one

it was determined that I was off-topic, so I have started this one, which is still on topic.

I meant my post to be sincere (maybe I chose my words poorly), and what it was was something like this:

Why would an 86-year-old be concerned about being able to or not being able to unload their timeshare? What would be so bad about just not paying for them any more?

Did the OP, or their Aunt believe there might be value in them?

At what point, age, or circumstance, can a person just say enough is enough?

    Serious to get others' feedback.

Part of my interest is a former neighbor of ours. He was older, had sold timeshares, and owned a couple or three weeks. One time years ago he blew up when I mentioned buying resale or from associations, etc. Then, when he was diagnosed with a terminal illness, he and his XSO asked me to unload theirs for them, since I "spent every day doing timeshare stuff and knew so many people".

I actually found a taker on a certain other internet timeshare forum, but my neighbor nixed the deal because he wanted a little bit of $$$ for some Spacebanked weeks.

It was a Mexican TS, and I was able to get the XSO off the ownership, after considerable BS with the Mexican company, so that it ended with my neighbor's passing.

So, in that case, nature took it's course.

But, at what point should one not have to wait for that?

Interestingly, after my neighbor's passing, the XSO contacted me to help her use those Spacebanked weeks, for her and her new boyfriend.

Around here, no good deed goes unpunished.
