My wife and I have owned in Bluegreen since about 2006 and Diamond Resorts since 2010. We also have a fixed week timeshare resort which we have rented out in recent years. Our ages average about 72; she is still working full-time while I am part-time but we plan to fully retire by next June. While we are using our points now as vacation time permits, including using some toward cruise purchases and short weekend getaways, eventually we will be too old and/or infirm to travel much. We have our doubts that our grown children will want these memberships.
Diamond Resorts in United Kingdom/Europe apparently allows members to give back their points with no compensation if they reach age 75 or can prove inablility to travel, but Diamond in the U.S. does not (so far as we have determined).
Obviously we can essentially give away our points for little in return by advertising in one of these forums, on eBay, or otherwise, or offering for rent, but what are some other good options.
