  • Northern Lights Timeshare recommendations?

Any recommendations for timeshares to see the Northern Lights please?
There doesn't seem to be any in Alaska. Am also checking out northern Europe.
Prefer to use timeshares if possible.
    Thank you.

the only time I saw the Northern Lights was by Moosehead Lake in Maine, where there were no timeshares, only paper company roads and land leased by those paper companies for people who had camps for hunting and fishing. I know there is a timeshare somewhere on Moosehead, but don't know where, nor do I know the ideal time to go there to see them. Those lights were totally outstanding. Can't remember the time of year, either...not much help.

Thanks. I read that the best time is during Winter, which works out well for us as we'll need to travel over the Dec/Jan school holidays.

There is a timeshare in Greenville, ME just a couple of miles from Moosehead Lake and there is also one in Jackman, ME. I've seen the northern lights only once, many years ago, in southern Connecticut. They are not very rare even in southern Maine, but to pick a week to see them would indeed be guesswork. It is a magnificent sky show.

Thanks Tony. I'd be worried about spending a week at a place where they're not so common. Will read up on Moosehead Lake.

Anyone else seen the Northern Lights or plan to see it? I thought it'd be on most people's bucket list. Or maybe only for people from the southern hemisphere.

I went on an Alaskan cruise and thought I saw them.
My friends said I was crazy that you couldn't see them from that part of Alaska but I saw something that sure looked like it.
Of course I was the only crazy fool up on the deck at 3am so I have no proof.
                We went in June.

Here's a website that might be helpful.

We're getting closer to taking a Thailand trip since younger dd is there. At first dh didn't want to go, but now as he hears more about it he's rapidly changing his mind.

On our recent China Trip, Pat H 'reminded' me that we had talked about that one (Thailand).

As you know, my Dneice is in Chile and Dsis and bil went to Chile and then on to Peru to Machu Picchu….fabulous trip - wineries and really HIGH mountains!

I read in Endless Vacation that one of the best places to see them is Fairbanks AK. No timeshares there.

Syd, this is a trip I have been planning for a couple of years. From what I have been told is a really good place is Chenna Hot Springs which is north of Fairbanks. September is a good month to go.

Were leaning towards Yellowknife Canada because of the predictable weather patterns. Possibly next September. No timeshares but the Fraser Tower has 1 bed units with kitchens.

Machu Picchu is on my bucket list too. Just hoping I can breathe at that altitude!

Lapland has timeshares but the other 2 locations are easier for me to get to.
