My trip above the Arctic Circle in Norway and Sweden was in the time period between the Midnight Sun and the Northern Lights, so I did not experience either. I did get to experience the White Nights (almost the Midnight Sun) once in Talinn, Estonia.

        Iceland!

        Spa and Northern Lights Tour

        https://www.icelandtravel.is/short-b..._Lights_Break/

Unwind at the Blue Lagoon, geothermal spa, visit Iceland's main attractions like Geysir's hot springs, sprouting geyser and the Golden waterfall, Gullfoss. Then relax in a natural steam bath. Finally board a Super Jeep to hunt for the elusive but spectacular Northern Lights.

I think they still do a free stopover in Iceland enroute to Europe, too. That might be good if heading to the German or Austrian Christmas markets. You might tack on a trip to Europe for a bit extra over what it would cost to get to just Iceland.

Last year, we went to Iceland to see them in November. That's supposed to be excellent viewing, but even so, only one night of the three we were there yielded success for the people who booked light-search tours (fortunately, we were searching on the lucky night). The pictures you see with the really intense colors, however, are just that: pictures. It takes a camera's longer exposure to get those really intense colors. We had a good sighting and were pleased, but when I saw pictures some of the people with us had taken, I was amazed at what the camera had seen that none of us saw with our naked eyes.

I did the free stop over in Iceland when going to Luxemburg years ago.
Nice perk not that there was that much to see.

In Iceland you might get to see the Milky Way, an erupting volcano and northern lights all at the same time.

Very beautiful but I wonder whether it's one of those things where the naked eye doesn't quite see what the camera can, like Pstreet1 says. Maybe I should look at photos instead. Would be a lot cheaper... and less disappointing.

You can't see it better than that, JLB. Imagine seeing this on a big screen as I saw it on a tiny phone and the music seemed to be made for this great display.
