  • Contemplating Renting My Timeshare On Ebay???

Has anyone used Ebay to rent their timeshare. I am thinking about giving it a try, and just wondered what the pros and cons may be.

Their fee was explained using an example of a 99 cents listing that sold for $25.00. If I remember correctly, the total cost was $1.56.

So, would I divide my renting price by 25, and then times it by $1.56???

Thanks....any info would be greatly appreciated.....

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

    Renting on Ebay

1st you need to be square trade certified, which costs $7.50 per month. Then to be honest, the buyers on Ebay don't pay anywhere near what most weeks are worth.

We only use Ebay to get rid of weeks that we are about to pass.

Your fees are way low, a $99 week with a few pictures costs about $6. to list then 3.5% of the sales price, whcih of course you hope is high!!

The best rental sites are www.redweeks.com www.myresortnetworks.com ( both of these have fees) and www.bidshares.com which is currently fee, but doesn't get much exposure.

try craigslist. But you will need to figure out which city you think can attract more intereing in your TS.

        Angela,

eBay is really best for last minute renting less than 60-days in advance of checkin.

If you have more than 6 months from check in, I would list it on redweek, myresortnetwork, vacationtimesharerentals or craigslist.

        The latter two are free.

If it doesn't rent with 2 months to go, then put it on eBay.

Thanks everyone for all the advise. I will start by placing ads in the various recommended sources. Maybe I will get lucky, and not have to deal with ebay....

Square trade used to offer a 'free trial...' Do they still do that? But, Boca's right, it's too far out for you at this point.

              Avery,

I don't about the trail period for Square Trade. If I don't rent it through the other sources, I will inquire. Thanks for the suggestion.

Or, maybe I will just add another vacation to the list.....
