I own mostly points but do own some fixed weeks.
Two fixed weeks at the beach, soon to be just one now that the deed has been transferred.
I also own a BG multi weeks ownership that was before BG had their points club.
I own points in DVC, HGVC, Wyndham and RCI points.
Toying with adding Hyatt or Bluegreen but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Points. Never had any interest in staying the same place every year, we tend not to take a vacation that lasts a tidy week, and always thought trading through RCI sounded like a hassle, so points seemed a good fit for us.
As hubby gets closer to retirement, a weeks ownership is starting to look more interesting, though.
RCI Points, too many Wyndham Points, small number of Bluegreen Points, a few fixed summer beach weeks, a few float weeks...way too much stuff. A couple are biennial, a few are triennial, one is quadrennial. I must be out of my mind.
We own points. Whats the advantage to owning weeks?
Having a predictable unit that you return to every year.
I love my fixed weeks at the beach.
Same wonderful view and it just feels like I'm coming home every year.
Also RCI and II give exchange options directly to weeks owners that are sometimes different than the corporate portals like BG, HGVC, DVC etc.
Those corporate portals have quality filters on them so you don't downtrade and get disappointed but also limits what you can see.
