Potential buyers of US operations of Sunterra

According to a post on Timeshare Talk, there are eight timeshare developers in talks to buy the US operations of Sunterra:

Bluegreen Corp.
Hilton Grand Vacation Club
Trendwest / cendant
Westgate Resorts
Marriott Vacation Club
Celebrity Resorts
Starwood Vacation Ownership
ILX Resorts

There is no word if Sunterra might be broken up or sold intact.

I think I'm going to hold onto my Sunterra weeks pending the outcome..
I hope they sell and get rid of that ridiculous requirement of charging $3K to "join"

I would love to see any of the following
BG
HGVC
Marriott
Starwood
Trendwest

I can't see Marriott, Starwood or HGVC taking on all the properties.

What would they do with something like the Scottsdale Villa Mirage 1-52 float weeks? How do you mix those into a system that needs Platinum, gold and Silver?
