What is the best all-inclusive timeshare and how do the fees work?

  • #2
All of the resort have different fees.
Most include all food and domestic liquors.
Some places have an up charge for foreign liquor.
I rarely stay in them anymore since I started timesharing.
They don't seem to be much of a bargain for exchanges.
If you check the notes in RCI for each resort they usually give you the fees.

They are often very expensive for Exchangers with RCI as we used to own a mandatory AI resort at the Grand Velas in Nuevo Vallarta in Mexico and the fees through RCI were outrageous and a total rip-off.

Being an owner there and having bought long before it was built, our fees were so much more reasonable so we stayed two weeks on a row several times and had 11 weeks left on our 25 year contract when we got an offer out of the blue to buy it from us so decided to sell the contract because there were only so many restaurants to eat at and the menu didn't change that much but it was very good.

I keep constantly looking for a nice promotion there as they used to have them but I don't see them unless it is steaming hot over there. I would love to go back one day as it is a very nice resort and not as big as some of them are but most are quite nice and on the beach.

To the OP, where would you like to travel to? I don't even know if we have these type of resorts in the USA also but they have them in the Caribbean too. Since we have only been to one AI resort, I have no idea what the best ones are. I am sure that they are rated somewhere like in the Trip Advisor.

Depends on what you want....for me I want good food, spacious rooms, top shelf alcohol so Velas Resorts works for me in Mexico. I have been to many many All Inclusive resorts and none compare.
Some you pay the fee for All Inclusive ahead and some upon arrival. Some have upcharges for better alcohol etc..or food, not my idea of all inclusive.
