  • Stop paying my timeshare

    HI,

I am not living in USA but i have buy an timeshare at vacation village at parkway in Orlando kissimee.
My question is, if i stop pay my monthly fee what will be the consequences for me?
If i fly to USA will i have some problem when i at costume?

No, you will not have problems at "Customs".

Everyone should respect their financial obligations, but since you are not a resident of the USA, whoever you are paying is pretty much out of luck.

Once you stop paying, will you get a series of letter telling you you are in arrears. They will put a negative comment on your credit report. A debt collector will try to get you to pay. Those will be meaningless threats. When you don't pay, and they finally give up, they will foreclose, and they will get their week back.

You could make an offer to them to take the week back, and save them time and money, and see if they will. But, it sounds like you don't have it paid for, so that's probably not an option.

    Does that about cover it?

Just curious . . . not long ago you were raving about this resort. What happened?

Just so you know, I have 27 years of experience with Orlando resorts, and the first three weeks we owned were there. I'm familiar with Vacation Village at Parkway. It is a nice resort in an area overbuilt with nice resorts. But it is not one of the top-tier mega-resorts in that area.

          Dear JLB
          thank you for your comment.
Look the resort it salf is amazing me and my wife love it alot and if i can stay there i definitely will go back. But due that i have encounter some financial issue i have stop paying it and i am busy to see if there is some one that want it and i will give it to them and they will continue pay it.

So when i come there to USA that is no problem for me?
So do not give it back to them just let them give up and that's it.

There's so many things I could say right now about foreigners coming to the USA. but I don't want to try to be humorous about it. I will just say that not paying your bills does not get you on the No Fly List. You will still be welcome, and you can stay wherever you want without anyone asking if you stop paying for a timeshare.

Feel free to google Vacation Village at Parkway. You will find stuff like this:

Like I said, it is a nice place in an area with way-too-many nice places, and owners wanting out have had to give their weeks away, and are happy to be able to do so. I know the person in Post 13 to be very credible.

A fact about timesharing is that at the same time owners are giving their weeks away for free, new owners are being sold the same thing for thousands of dollars. I believe that would be you.

            I sympathize.

No i do not want to sell nothing. I want to just give it away for free. The only thing that they need to pay is the remaining amount to lando resort i do not need nothing.

Thank you for your information. I highly appreciated it.

                dhrbush,

In today's connected world of credit the banks, lawyers, Timeshare resorts have the means to collect funds wherever you live. It is possible the next time you apply for a loan, job, credit report that this information will appear in your background check.

I would highly advise that you do not ignore your financial obligations if at all possible.

I don't think customs would stop your entry into the US. However I have to question. If you have the financial ability to travel to the US, why then can you not also pay for your timeshare as well.

I believe the OP wants to know if he will be denied a visa to enter the US. That is a legal question that has been directed to attorneys on law and immigration forums:

An attorney I respect on a password-protected legal forum says:

"Here's the number for the USCIS Customer Service:

                    1-800-375-5283

                    Call up and ask. "
