  • Contacted by Fox Plaza Resorts about selling

We have been contacted by Fox Plaza Resorts about purchasing our Bluegreen time share. I was just wondering if anyone has heard of this company or if it is legit? The contact person is using a gmail address so that makes me wonder..... We have thought about getting rid of it because we honestly haven't been able to use it for the past 5 years due to our work schedules. Just curious if this is a "legit" company.

Are they asking for money upfront? If so, run far, far away. Also, a company who contacts you is always suspect.

Is there a reason they would contact you out of the blue offering to buy something they can get on eBay for next to nothing?

If you accept the offer, they will likely come up with some sort of transfer fee or the like that you will need to pay, and they'll promise to reimburse you from the proceeds.

Can't find Fox Plaza resorts in a google search (at least the first 4-5 pages). I would also guess it is some king of a scam, perhaps the one where they say the client changed his mind for some reason now, but they can list your week for a fee and sell it in no time.

Always be suspicious of companies that do not have a footprint on the internet. I don't see any name in the email. What email address did it come from?

Yes, my whole wondering is the fact that I haven't been able to find out anything about them. The guys name is Gary Nolan and his email is garynolan113@gmail.com The point that I haven't been able to google the company or this guys email makes me seem very, very suspicious. There is another email too, which is also a gmail..... yourresort050@gmail.com

Scootr - we had placed it out for sale a long time ago and my wife and I had honestly forgot about it.

I just went and looked at my wife's email. She is the one that was actually contacted, she forwarded the email to me. Here is the first email she got.... The one I posted earlier was the 2nd one after she stated that we were interested in selling....

              ----------------
              It's me Gary Nolan

I need to hear back from you right away, this is the second attempt to email you, and It is very important that you reply to this email.
I think we have a buyer for your Bluegreen, But I need you to verify one piece of information to make sure.
We have several people that want to buy at Bluegreen, so if you are still looking to sell your timeshare then you need to reply to me right away.
I just need you to answer one simple question about your Membership. and if your Information matches you just sold your property.

All I need you to verify is the size of your unit

In other words how many bedrooms or if you switched to points how many points you receive because your resort sells both

If your information matches what one of our clients wants to purchase then I can email you the Signed paperwork for the purchase of your property.

              Gary Nolan

I too have been contacted and own a timeshare resort @ Flagship. They offered me a nice fee of $9,700 but I have to pay the upfront fees to transfer county taxes, Title Search Fee and Money Transfer Fee .. about total of $198. But I am leary about paying anything upfront so I called Flagship and they informed me to be very careful that they believe it to be a Scam. His name is Gary Nolan and the company is Fox Plaza Resorts .. not much information on them on the internet .. quick and simple website .. not very comfortable with this so I will pass. If anyone finds out they are legit please advise. Thank You!

In general timeshare closings are like other real estate closings with fees and taxes along with any other items deducted from the sales fee in the closing settlement. Paying upfront for anything is a red flag and the price seem rather high even tho I have seen them higher and much lower for sale. I discount the higher prices as from owners who have no idea of the resale market.
