While staying at Casa Del Mar in Ormond Beach my wife scheduled us for a Bluegreen sales meeting, she can't say no to $100 it seems. I can report that these things have not changed AT ALL since the last one I went to in 2005. 28K for 20K BG points and they through in the Charter benefits to get bonus time for no charge. When you say no, you get the 8K EOY offer for 9K+. When that answer is no you get the sampler deal, 9K one time points for 1195. They still do the whole math equation about nights per year in a teeny tiny hotel room times the number of years you expect to vacation which comes to 45k for us. That makes the 28k for roomy timeshares a bargain, right? Oh well, we got our $100 out of it.

Last time I went to one was in 2005 in a hurricane in Orlando. Out in 40 minutes with Disney tickets.

I like going to sales presentations and have gone on quite a few this year in HI. I wanted to see the newly built resorts plus I wanted to find out what several new programs were about. They are very different from when we started timesharing in the 80s.
What I don't like are all the changes the resort developers come up with to keep charging more for a product that we had bought already. Each one of them have reinvented the wheel and have gone over to a flexible point system but the caveat is, if available.
The Hyatt Residence Club is the last chain now to start a brand new trust program where you buy points and no deed at all. The fixed week/units are on the way out completely and you are totally at the merci of what they will give you because they have full control over the inventory.
