How do you like all the mergers lately with the name-brand timeshare resorts?

I read another rumor today by Reuters that will shake up this industry. You all know the names that are mentioned in this story. Is this industry going to make more changes yet and what about our wishes? We used to be their loyal customers but now they no longer seem to care. It really bothers me.

It may be time for us to sell and just travel on the spur of the moment when we see a good deal. They are out there all the time.

Wow, I wonder, if these mergers take place, how the owners will be affected. These are high end brands.

A few years back Starwood stock ( HOT ) was a good one and then I Marriott acquired Starwood. Since then Marriott stock ( MAR ) has increased quite a bit.

I never cared for the big brand timeshares. I remember a friend asking me to look at and advise as to buying Sunterra stock way back. After a quick look at the financials, I told him to stay away. Sunterra sold out to Diamond about a year later when Sunterra's financial woes came to light. Around that same time, I looked at Marriott's financials and found their income statement to be very strange and confusing.
