  • Peregrine Townhomes Question

I'm looking at getting a fixed summer week at this resort. Can any owners comment about any specific units to get or avoid? I'm looking at a 1BR. Any other comments about the resort?

Additionally, can you also comment on a fair price (resale of course) and what would be a great price? If you'd rather PM on this question that's fine.

Are you considering this for personal use or for exchange? Which summer week are you considering? I've owned a 2 BR Peregrine for a number of years - it trades quite well with RCI. I use it only for exchange. Also there will probably be a special assesssment if the HOA ever gets enough votes to approve it. I can't remember off hand how much - it seems in the $200 range - would have to look up the info.

I'm looking at it primarily for trading which I believe it is pretty good. (Week 27). But I'm also curious to see if many people use it and hopefully rent it out when we don't exchange it. We haven't been to that area before and wouldn't mind exploring that area. I know it doesn't have a lot of amenities but it's on the beach. We aren't fancy people so it would fall in line with our style but would it for the average non-ts person?

I used to own there. Certain weeks are tiger traders with RCI. But those same weeks stink when traded with II. Never deposit em with II. Renting it out might not be as easy as you think. There are much nicer resorts around that folks rent, and Galveston beach area is overbuilt and have tons of beds during summer at decent prices.

As for the resort I did actually stay there once during my Memorial Day week. It's right on the ocean, but I didn't like that vehicles are allowed to park and camp on the beach. Also the beach was dirty when I stayed there. Maybe that's why they call that area the Redneck Riviera?
