I bought my TS (Westin in FL) as a weeks member. Although when I look it up in the resort directory it shows that it is a points resort. Does this have any affect on my trading power? And why would this be?

Most resorts which are now RCI point resorts started as a week only resort. Therefore when you buy a resort which is now RCI points you can buy a unit which is weeks only (but can be converted to points) or a weeks unit which HAS BEEN converted to points. If you bought from the deveolper you should have gotten the convertion to point for free, but if you bought resale the convertion to RCI points could be anywhere from $200 to $3000. That why if you are buying a resort which is RCI points you generally want to buy a unit which has been converted already.
As far as being a weeks owner at a resort which is also RCI points, IMHO there should be little effect on your trading power.Bill

Don't try to judge your trading power on the points awarded for the different week either.
I gave that a run a couple of years ago and the highest point value week trades like a dog in weeks. A week awarded less points trades very well.Lawren
