Hi Everyone,
My name is Lauren. I joined this site because we were suckered into buying a week timeshare from RCI- the place was Vacation Village Bonaventure- Anyone have one there? Well anyway we cancelled it by the ten day period when we saw how much cheaper the same things were for re-sale. We are still very interested in buying a timeshare but need some guidance in points vs. weeks and the company to go with. Thanks!!!
We have been with Fairfield for 2 years and we are still learning. Bought retail to become a FF VIP Platinum and I am using all the benifits. This year we expect to spend 12 weeks at vairous FF locations in 2 bedroom units and expect to have point remaining to get 1 more week through RCI next year.
Hi! I am Teresa, I am married with 2 young boys (3 and 7). We own with Fairfield. Hello to all my fellow Fairfield members! We have only stayed at Fairfield properties, and have never traded within RCI, but have started to consider it!
I'm Carl- my wife's name is Peggy. We've been into timesharing since 2004. Previously owned in Myrtle Beach(Ocean Blvd) & Orlando Fl (Bonnett Creek). We've traveled the US utilizing our Fairfield points including Hawaii where we recently upgraded to Gold VIP and moved our ownership to Kona Hawaian Resort on the
Big Island. Stayed in Hawaii 3 wks in March 06 & loved it. Going back in Nov , 07 courtesy of an RCI spacebank. Hope to contribute in a positive manner to the group. Regards, Carl B.
Hello! Not exactly new, but just wanted to reintroduce. I haven't been to site for a while to just recently. Hello everyone.
I own Fairfield timeshare. Actually right now on my way to Bonnet Creek. But currently staying at a Microtel Hotel, which is not the greatest. Has free wireless high speed internet though.
Hi-
My wife and I recently got into timesharing. Last fall while on vacation in Hawaii, we bought (retail) at Fairfield Kona Hawaiian Resort. Since then, we have bought resale at Fairfield Nashville. So far, #3 child used several days at Grand Desert in Las Vegas and the wife and I just got back last month from a week in Nashville. We are going next month to Bonnet Creek and we have reservations in October in Sedona. I enjoy reading postings by others to help me learn and understand the in's and out's of timesharing through others experiences. David.

I'm a new member and have just returned from Furtuventura where I purchased a timeshare. The company are Elite resorts and are RCI listed. Has anyone heard of them? Are they a reputable company?
I'm currently experiencing buyers remorse slightly and panicing as you hear so many bad things about timeshares?

Joanne.
If you bought from the developer follow instructions to rescind IMMEDIATELY. Spend time here. Ask questions. Find out what timeshare aspect suits your vacation style best and then buy resale.

I was reading through some posts and I see some of you asking for help on this thread. Keep in mind that This thread is to introduce yourself. If you require help. Please try posting your questions in the proper forums if you want answers.
I needed to bring this back up as you will not get help in this thread. This thread is for introductions only not for help.
Joanne I think you might need some help so please post in the correct forum. If you bought from the developer then I hope there is still time to rescind.
Hi,
My name's Ed. I'm the Ed in "EZ Ed." My wife's name is Zelda, believe it or not. She's the "Z" in "EZ." I'm the "E" and the "Ed" in our name. (Consider it a form of double-booking.)
We have two adult daughters, one of whom is married. She and her husband have a two-month old son (who is perfect, BTW). I'm an educator in the public schools and my wife is an executive assistant for a large company.
We've been timesharing about six years. We've owned at FF Smoky Mountains in Sevierville, TN, since 2000 (paid developer prices; won't do that again) and recently bought, through ebay, a June fixed week in Surfside Beach, SC.
We've exchanged into Kauai once already (going to the Big Island in July 07) and into The Osbourne Club in Torquay, England. Otherwise, we've stayed mostly in the southeast through FF and through RCI exchanges, but we hope to branch out once we retire in six or seven years.
We like timesharing and consider it a reasonable alternative for our family. We were introduced to timesharing through my parents' RTU timeshare in Myrtle Beach in the 80's. We can tell now that it wasn't a great timeshare, but at the time, it was a great deal for them, and we're thankful that they shared what they had with us.
I'm a TUG member and a member of the Yahoo FF Users Group, and I keep up with them daily. Maybe that's why I haven't posted to Timeshare Forums before. Now, I'll be at the computer even longer daily.
I'll do some reading and exploration on the site before I do any other posting, not really lurking, but biding my time so I don't go off half-cocked about something.
My husband and I are awaiting the deed for our 1st timeshare, FF Glade. We've received many "tour"/sales pitch offers and ver, very rarely take them up on the offer. We decided to do a FF one - yes, just because the goodies looked pretty good. I had no idea that a more flexible system existed plus we have such a large family (8 children) that we are needing 2+ hotel rooms. TS through FF point system seemed to be an avenue we needed to explore. We were at the presentation, no I'm not joking, for 4-5 hrs!! We left thinking it was just too high an initial investment for us and our family's economics.
After leaving the presentation disappointed about not being able to swing that up front cost, My husband said to me, "Why don't you check what's on the internet about this?" and we were SO fortunate to find tons of info on the TUG website, FF Yahoo group and TS4MS. We couldn't believe the price diferential and the avalanche of advice and facts given out by other TS folks, just because they wanted to. Well, we're itching to begin using our points and learning more about exchanging. Thanks to all of you generous people for your willingness to share your knowledge and experience in TS. We are looking forward to some great memories with our children.
May God bless your day! --- Debbie in "usually" sunny Florida <><
Hello all. I'm either joining, or re-joining (I think I had a member id awhile ago). I was re-directed back to this site to get some information on possible trades into Hawaii (big island) for summer 2007.
I own two timeshares, one at the San Diego Country Estates (since 1973) and Maui Hill in Kihei (since 1986). We pretty much use both of them for trading these days although we used to go to Maui Hill every summer until the dates started interferring with our daughters' school dates. We have fallen in love with the big island and are now spending every other summer vacation there.
Hello my name is Becky. I have been a TUG member for a number of years, but post only ocassionally. My husband and I live in Michigan, have a 4yo son and love to travel. I bought our 1st timeshare (in Biloxi, MS) 10 yrs. ago on an internet auction site. We currently have 4 timeshares.
Looking forward to participating on this site. Thanks to those who initiated putting this together!
