  • What is the best way to sell MROP weeK?

I would like to sell my MROP redweek but I am finding that it is very hard to list it.
Is ebay the only option? I prefer not to sell on ebay because of the fees especially because you need to join square trader to sell timeshares.
Most of the other selling sites (bidshares.com, redweek.com) are set up for week owners not this time of ownership.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks.

You don't need to be square trade certified

to sell a timeshare on Ebay.

That only applies if your renting units.

The listing fee is $35 plus whatever bells and whistles you use in your auction.

The final fee is also $35, so the total is a little more that using a site like www.redweeks.com , they are $49.95 for a 1 year listing.

If it is a red week they are selling for between $500-$900 on ebay.

Sometimes if you have a great reservation that will be included you can get more.

You might try some of the free sites using the latest resort that you reserved as your listing, we have done this on some of the group units like MROP, WWVC, WIVC, etc.

www.bidshares.com is a good place to start.

      Thanks Greg!

      Many Thanks Greg.
What is a great reservation? I think we have Jackson Hole for early summer 2007. In addition I have a banked exchange valid until Dec.
      Thanks again for your help.

Greg, I had it listed on Bidshares under a ORE resort with no bids.
I looked up the reservation -- it is Jackson Pines 5/31/07
Maybe I should list it under Jackson Pines?

You can also list it on TUG and TS4Ms. Redweek doesn't seem to be set up for MROP. I have searched redweek for MROP weeks, and they only show up through some of the MROP resorts, not as club weeks. I've purchased 5 red weeks over the last year via ebay, and have paid between $100 and $300 per week not including closing costs. One sold recently for about $500 and one for around $750. The one that sold for $750 had a really great ebay ad. If you are hoping to get a minimum amount, you may need to set a reserve price.

          Good luck!

            Barbara,
If you figure it out and end up with more buyers/offers than you can handle, let me know. I have an Always Red MROP/ORE week with a booked Jackson Pines (Yellowstone) 2BR 4th of July 2007 reservation I'd be willing to part with in my ongoing portfolio adjustment. Have recently sold or am in the process of selling a Summer FF Ocean Ridge 2BR that used to get two weeks for one in DAE Europe before there was a US office, DB's President's Week 2BR lockoff OBX a week that traded amazingly well in RCI for being Blue, and a Red Float 2BR in Calabash, NC.

I will let you know if by some miracle I get more than one buyer! I am selling others too, looks like more of us are reducing our portfolio.

Barbara, the www.ore-inc.com website has a small classified section. I don't know if they charge you to post there, but the people who look there will already know what the MROP is all about.

It was item number 230017263923. It closed 8/17, so it should be up for a few more days at least.

That one is pretty good, wish I'd seen it before jumping the gun on mine which can be found with a search on MROP, tell me how I did, chemteach, I'm an eBay novice but I worked hard on my listing. MROP-ORE is not easy to describe in a brief listing. Whatever I get, I get, working on portfolio 'adjustment.'

                        Spence,
I have an ongoing search on ebay for MROP, so I saw your ad before seeing this post. It's a very nice ad! Good luck.

                        I've pmEd you.

I was going to sell my MROP week also but when I talked to the ORE people I found out that VRI will be merging or taking over/ forgot what she said, but anyway it will open up a whole new vista for us to exchange to with low exchange fees. I deceided to keep mine to see what happens. shaggy

Good point... I will hang on to mine until I can at least get the price I paid for it.
Who knows maybe they will become more valuable after VRI takes over...
