  • Options for exchange week

I have a week at a resort in St. Thomas Nov. 4-11 that was confirmed with an II replacement week. Found out a few weeks ago there is no way we can go.
II states I can't cancel because it is a replacement week. I am having a hard time "giving it away" and wanted to know if anyone has any good ideas on what to do with it. Can I donate an "exchange" week at this late date? Who could use it? Thanks.

      Carolyn,

It's not that late.....Maybe you can put it on Ebay, or list it as a "distressed week" on some of the sites that rent timeshares.

You never know, if you put it up for an extremely reasonable price, maybe you'll get some interest.

BTW, I'm still keeping track of how many times you annoy me.

If you plan on doing that, just send them in your letter of resignation and save them the bother.

Keep in mind you can not rent out an exchanged week. If you want to give it away you can post on these boards that you have a free week to give away. Someone might take it. I have given a way weeks and have found people who have been just as kind in return years later.

Oops.............I read that it was a replacement week, and wrongfully assumed that it was a replacement week for the week you own, at your home resort.

If it was an exchange, you can not rent it. But, you know that already, that's why you're trying to give it away........Duh.........

Sapphire Beach Club. I know people have donated a week at their own home resort and I guess with a guest certificate I could still donate an exchange.
