OK the writing was on the wall but DH refused to let me dump the first timeshare we ever bought. Even when we had a taker!

MFs have risen +/- $100 over 7 years. MFs went up another 6% this year. Not bad you say? Well it is blistering hot in off season Palm Desert and $440 + RE fees of about $35 is TOO much for a studio. <I know it matters not but the resort WAS GC and is now Hospitality>.

SO can I, with a deeded week, call my HOA and ask if I can switch to a Prime season week? Even if it costs a couple hundred bucks to do the transfer it would be worth more trade or use wise and the MFs are the same.

I figure they can only say NO right?

MFs are same for all seasons.

Has anyone ever done this sucessfully?

Hi, Lawren,
If you have a good track record with the resort (i.e. dues paying member) I say it is worth a shot...might prove to be a great way for them to keep you who they can count on ....so I would approach them, let them know how long you have had a good relationship with them, and tell them that you are considering selling or leaving the resort, would they consider making a trade? Perhaps you will get lucky...I say go for it! Let us know what you decide....

Yeah, trade it in like a used car. Hey, they're all "used" anyway, timeshares I mean. Go for it!
