What are you doing for the Columbus Day Holiday

Anyone traveling to a timeshare resort or hotel
Are you spending the long holiday weekend or
will you spend the whole week..

Do you think the planes & highways will be packed

Gas is cheaper than its been in awhile so enjoy

We are driving to Hyannis MA to catch the ferry over to Nantucket. We'll be there Saturday - Saturday. Wish I were packed.

We drove up to Pigeon Forge yesterday and the interstate was loaded with folks pulling campers. It's a bit early here for the leaf-peepers, so I don't know where exactly they were headed. I wondered if it was already the Columbus Day crowd.

do people actually get this day off??? the whole week???

It's a federal holiday. I only get one day off, but my two younger kids are out of school all week for Fall break, so we always travel. It's a terrific time of year to vacation.

Columbus Day - Federal Holiday - Celebrated on Monday

Isn't celebrating Columbus a rather odd thing to do?
He wasn't the world's greatest role model. Just think about it -

Its a Federal Holiday here in the US all federal employees get
the day off with "pay" and it makes for a nice 3 day weekend!

That's one of the feds I've never had off. Hard to remember if I even got it off from school, but we never had Fall Break.

Well, good, go forth and have a pile of fun!! this would be a great time to travel - cool enuf, warm enuf, not everyone and their brother to contend with.

Hey Luanne......... Columbus Day in San Francisco means FLEET WEEK.

It may mean Fleet Week, but it still doesn't mean I get the day off.

We'll be at Harbortown Pt. in Ventura, CA 10/6-13, and then up to Morro Bay for 3 more nights to visit friends, and play at some golf. Work? Some of you people actually WORK?
