llggood, I agree with you on float weeks. I also prefer a fixed week that I will want to use myself.

If October is readily available in Branson maybe that means you can get a really low price on ebay or bidshares. Make sure you check out the m/f and check with resort for special assessments. Check reviews on tug and tripadvisor too.

I also felt the original answers were too abrupt, so welcome.

Buying in Branson, Orlando, Williamsburg or Las Vegas is not a good idea. These areas are overbuilt or on the way there soon, so- even if these are your destinations of choice, don't buy there. You can, in time, find free weeks that will trade into overbuilt areas, and if October is your time of choice for travel, you also have one of the more universal low seasons for travel (leaf peeping time is somewhat busy). There are some rental sites out there where you can find some cheap timeshare rentals, if you want to try before you buy.

Wecome, good. In spite of what you felt initially, I am hoping that you will hang around both sites..there are people here (and there) who know more about timeshare than just about anyone. We have learned so much, and saved so much money through the years, and have met some truly wonderful people. Their advice is very good. Study first, as long as it takes, then buy. Good luck!

I have discovered that you can join RCI without owning any timeshares. Then you can go to extra vacations or last call and get a week in Branson in October quite easily for $300 to 400 and even less with last call. I would consider doing this.

I remember a conversation about joining without owning but thought the conclusion was that if you sold your timeshare, they would not know that you sold, so you could keep your membership.

I think the OP should buy a $1.00 week right here, Spence has one for sale, and trade into Branson. It is an easy trade at that time of year, but with kids, she might not want to go in October regularly.

So where do I find this week Spence has for sale and why would he sell it for $1.00?

Spence owns a lot of weeks. I think he has this particular one on TUG and wants someone to take it. It is in Reno and is a deluxe studio.

But along with his week, there are so many really great deals on weeks that really will trade into Orlando and Branson easily.

Where do you want to go? That is the first thing that a timeshare salesperson always asks. Every time. But I am really being serious. Do you want to go to Branson (I love it there, too) and what about Orlando, Williamsburg, Colorado, etc.? If you are willing to travel in the offseason, any week will likely get you to those places. I can pull summer weeks at all of those places with my supposed "bad" trader.

Branson the most because we can drive there and the whole family loves it. Eventually hubby and I would like to go to Vegas. WE both like Colorado as well and have family there. We have been to DisneyWorld twice, can't see us going back much. Maybe once more.

                          Free timeshare for maintenance fess

                          llggood,

If you want a cheap entry into timesharing, you can get a free 1 br in Texas. See this link

                          http://www.timeshareforums.com/forum...ad.php?t=18178

I would think that it can trade into Branson or Orlando pretty well. You would want a red season week.

I sent you another possibility for a free timeshare, one that I own and love for trading. I think you will be very pleased.

I have not gotten anything I would recognize.

More of my incoming goes to the spam filter. Unless I recognize the sender or the topic, I do not open it. So use a pertinent topic line, like Help on Branson, TUG/TS4M Questions, etc.
