  • Success renting on Craig's list?

I've just listed a TS for rent on craigslist. Since it was free, I figured I'd try. But it got me wondering. Has anyone had any luck renting there?

I've had lots of luck buying and selling stuff, but nothing like this.

I use them for renting my Apartments. I do not use real estates anymore. As soon as I list them they get rented by the first week.

I've tried it a couple of times. You get a LOT of inquiries and you spend a LOT of time responding to basic questions about timeshares. I've had luck with Craigslist, but the time I spend on it really isn't worth it.

On timeshare websites, if you've got a good deal, they just take it after asking a few basic questions since they are already familiar with timeshares.

On the other hand, a lot of people know about Craigslist who don't know about the timeshare rental sites. It makes sense that the more savvy renter would know about Timeshareforums, Tug, Redweek, Myresortnetwork, etc., but the general public often looks to Craigslist and it has a greater awareness; thus, BocaBum99's comments that Craigslist people are less informed would make sense.

I would think that a timeshare neophyte will be more likely to think of the rental as a terrific bargain as opposed to what they would have to pay booking at the place directly (where there is a resort) and might be less apt to bargain.
