Go to my original post and click on the "quote" button. That will show the UBB code. Copy and paste the addresses following the "url=" portion of the code into your browser address bar.

Thanks Steve, I was able to get to the website to look at the bridges and read the brief description about them. A couple of them are hundreds of years old. I did order a calendar.

I downloaded IE 7 and could not open one single web page so I uninstalled it the same night. I saved a "prtscr" of the message I got every time but it is on the other computer. I prefer the old version as I know what I am doing.

      Emmy,

Thank you for the link. Even though I mentioned it I don't think my problem is IE 7 but you never know.

Most of the newer cable bridges being built are cable-stayed bridges, whereas all of the "old" cable bridges are suspension bridges. The only common element is the use of cables; the underlying technologies and structural characeteristics re quite different. But both technologies provide striking architecture.

Personally, I think suspension bridges have more of a "natural" feeling to them, because catenary curves (the shape assumed by the cables on a suspension bridge) occur often in nature. The straight angular forms of a cable-stay, in contrast, speak more to a triumph of materials and engineering.

The links work fine for me in both IE7 and Firefox. Might your problem be that you have pop-ups disabled in IE7? Also try right-clicking on each of the thumbnails. Then select "Copy Shortcut" and paste the link into a browser address bar.

Steve, I had no problem with opening your thumbnails either but I had a problem opening any web page after I downloaded IE 7. I made a comment about that because rci124 mentioned this in his post too. I still don't know what the problem is and I will ask Panda Software next week.
