Many of you know that I consider St John USVI the most beautiful place on earth. We have been there many, many times.

The first time we stayed at the Westin but rent gorgeous fully equipped villas from a very dependable company ever since.

Depending on time of year, how large and how fancy you can rent ANYTHING from about $2k to well over $10k for the week.

So this poor slob is thinking $85k for one measly week a year is a deal and would appreciate in value. I don't want to think about what the MFs are.

STJ is one place where timeshare is just not an attractive ownership option.

    JMHO.

The beaches of St John are all public and you can walk right into the WSJ and use their pool and "mingle" and eat at their restaurants <why anyone should choose to do that is beyond me> You can swim at their beach <the only man-made beach on the island; filled with boats that people live on > My kid has always met others on the beaches to hang out with. I have never felt the need to dump him in a Westin's Kids Club.

You can hire a cleaning service from the company I rent from if you want it as well as chefs to come cook for you. They also will arrange your car rental, so you don't have to use the on-site WSJ Hertz as you will want a jeep anyway.

So. THEY can mingle and I'll take my view and huge house with a pool.

SO I will refrain from further upsetting the "We own at Westin Crowd" unless called upon. <Unless I start drinking. In which case all bets are off. >

After seeing SJ last year I have to agree it is one of the nicest Islands out there. I go spend a week back at SJ over Hawaii.

Quartershare of a month and halfshare of a fortnight.

I told you to leave them be. They would prefer to spend a fortune on a timeshare that isn't within walking distance of anything, with no view, with a tiny little plungepool, with OH NEVERMIND!..

Want to rent this? we can have a TS4M meeting! A friend of my husband's did rent this property and fell in love with it. We even get our own private Tennis Court.

                          http://www.caribbeanvilla.com/tennis_villa/index.html

If you look closely that is the Westin's Beach at the last picture here: http://www.caribbeanvilla.com/tennis_4/index.html. We can thumb our noses as we are a 4 minute walk if we feel like slumming ( ooops mingling) at the pool bar while they have to wait for the poorly managed golfcart shuttle. We can have 3 pina coladas while waiting for them to get there.

I think I'll be next up for that after my Ebay post. I'm ready .

Avery, I don't care how much money I ever have. I would never pay $80,000 for a timeshare week.

I think the reason it is so expensive is because it is platinum plus. But good luck selling that bad boy in a few years when StarOptions don't transfer to a resale owner in the new phase. If I had a choice to buy resale at either phase, I'd choose the first phase a) because it has StarOptions, and b) because the 3 BR villas have their own pools. Prediction: Resale values at phase 2 are going to suck, relative to phase 1...

Wow great deal...85k...can I finance that? Can I make monthly payments? I think I can squeeze it in the family budget.
