When we owned rental property I was amazed by how often I had to repair or replace stuff on the rental property that I never had to at our own house.
Window screens, tub enclosures, door knobs, drains, faucets, toilets, carpeting . . .
Those who lend money for mortgages definitely draw the distinction, lending less and charging more for rental property mortgages.
The problem when applying it to timeshares is that we really can't do much about it since our unit is owned by up to 49 others.
It would seem logical that users of timeshares in some areas would be harder on them than in other areas. It seems that resorts in family destinations would be the hardest hit, maintenance-wise.
