  • Selling a Timeshare

Could anybody explain the process of how to sell a timeshare? I have not commoitted to selling I would just like to know how hard the process is. Right now we own a deeded week at Grandview at Las Vegas. I realize that I would probably lose money on the deal, but is there anybody that knows the best way to proceed?

First you need to find the market price, then decide where to advertise. You will have to decide who will do the closing/contract and get the necessary documents if you are to do it yourself. Then you advertise and wait for responses. If you choose to have someone else sell it for you, DO NOT PAY UPFRONT FEES.

try tug's "how to sell your timeshare".

Once you determine what is the possible price you are willing to sell and look like the market are very likely to accept, You may start by putting ads on few links that you can find that did not charge you a leg/arm some place like redweek, myresortnetwork, vacationtimesharerentals. You can also put on this site and tug. So you get a feeling how the market react. Expect this maybe a long process. You can also put on bidshare, since it has very few traffic, put a high reservation price. If people interest, they may neg. with you.

Then set a time like 1 year or 1 1/2 year. If you did not get too many interest call, put on eBay. With eBay, you want to put on like Spring Early summer. Give it sometime (not like close in 4 or 5 days), and make no reservation. Since it has enough traffic there, you want to attract people to bid. Sometime, people just jump in when they see there is someone bid, I guess that is because a lot of bidder has no idea how to value TS. Snce it is no reservation, you are bet with eBay there is enough traffic to push the price to what is reasonable. If you make an effort to the ad, and put it on Spring Earily Summer, it may do.

Find one or 2 closing companies and just ad that the buyer can use them or pick one from the one you pick. Insist the buyer send money to the closing company. And let the closing company handles the rest.

      Good Luck

Have you checked with your resort to see if they have a resale program? Not many do but those that do are really a great service to their owners, and they help to set a stable resale market.

            Hi DJNoBrow,

Just wondering if you tried selling your Grandview TS. If so how did you do it and did you have any luck selling it.

We also have a TS at Grandview and I'm weighting my options too.

            Thanks
