  • RCI Changed insurance?

Just talked to an RCI counselor about getting insurance on my trip to Vegas. I asked him what it covered and all he said was it returned your exchange priority back to the original. No trip interuption, no medical insurance, no lost luggage, etc. etc. Plus it is now $50.

Where do we go to get decent insurance (elderly parents) at a reasonable price. shaggy

RCI insurance is a joke, imho. Their fees keep adding up. We also want to know so I googled for travel insurance and again for trip insurance and found a whole page of information.

I am looking at this page here now but would love to get the answer too from someone who uses a good company. TIA.

Shaggy, you need it with all the uncertainty you face. I feel for you.

PS. They will send you a quote for 9 different plans free of charge.

Emmy, thanks to Madge of all people she sent me to a link which sent me to another link with VacationGuard. Sounds just like what I need. I will call tomorrow to make sure it covers if Mom should have an emergency or die while I'm on vacation. It's only $39. It's underwritten by Nationwide and was designed specifically for timeshare vacations. I am also wondering if my next door neighbors can buy it since they are traveling with me. Will post my findings. shaggy

Shaggy, we took an insurance out that Sandy recommended for the TUG Alaska cruise. I can't remember how much it was but certainly more than what you quoted here. The company is here. We didn't need it so were lucky.

We need to start insuring ourselves for our trips outside the USA as we saw our friend have an accident in Mexico and it was expensive. Their insurance paid for everything but so much later. They had to use their credit card.

Our friends in Wales insure themselves for a whole year but I have no clue how they do this because I don't see it offered anywhere here. Does anyone know?

I have to regroup and check out the other insurance companies you linked me to. I just got off the phone and talked to a very nice and informative lady . She told me that my trips this year would not be covered as I paid mf's on them last year. They will only cover the trips that you paid the mf's for in that year. If I had bought this insurance before Jan they would have been covered. She advised me to call back in Nov and get the plan and the trips I have scheduled for 208 will be covered. They will only cover the trips I paid mf's on. Extra vacations, etc. will not be covered. Shaggy
